PCA Skin Peels

PCA SKIN professional peels

Building a solid skin care routine that targets your individual concerns and skin type is vital to achieving and maintaining a healthy, glowing complexion.

Professional peels are blends of acids that will help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots (hyperpigmentation), rosacea, acne and some sensitive skin condtions. PCA SKIN’s peels range from very mild to medical strength.

PCA peels are an effective treatment to correct most skin concerns and can help you achieve a more youthful appearance and brighter glow to your complexion.

Professional peels range from mild to medical strength to address various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne, and mild scarring. They also improve skin texture and stimulate collagen production, resulting in healthier-looking skin.

According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, there are three major tiers of professional peels: superficial (or light), medium-depth, and deep. These categories define how many layers of skin the peel affects.

Benefit 1
Improve skin texture.

Benefit 2

Benefit 3

Benefit 4
Control and improve the appearance of rosacea and acne.

How does it work?

Through clinical studies it has been demonstrated that Skin Medica and PCA Chemical Peels can help you erase the effects of time. These peels are clinically proven to improve acne scarring, hyper-pigmentation/melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, skin tone, skin texture and sun damage with 3-4 treatments.

What areas of the body can I use a Chemical peel on?

The chemical peel treatment can be used effectively on the face and decollete.

How long does it take to begin seeing results?

You will notice a brighter, more refined complexion with the very first treatment. Dramatic facial skin improvement can be seen after a series of 3 or 4 treatments. Expect to see a diminished appearance of pores, hyperpigmentation and fine lines when used in combination with microdermabrasion treatments and professional products recommended by your Medical Esthetician.

What is the cost for a chemical peel?

The chemical peels that we use are meant to be used as a series, approximately 3 – 4 weeks apart. We do however, offer them by a single treatment, so that you can try before you purchase the series. Please contact us for more information on single treatments, and packages of (4) treatments.

What can I expect at my appointment?

The actual chemical peel treatment process takes less than 30 minutes. You can expect a mild tingling or feeling of warmth to the skin for a few minutes when the chemical peel is applied. After treatment, we apply a physical sunblock with an SPF of 30, to protect skin. Your facial skin will be pink upon completion of the peel. All peels are done by a licensed Medical Esthetician.

Are there any limitations to what I can do after a chemical peel?

Yes. Please refrain working out/getting overheated and from tanning the area. An SPF 30 containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide should be used when going outdoors or driving. Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, or saunas for a few days after your chemical peel. Do not pick or pull at the skin, as this may cause scarring. Avoid working out for a few days, as this my overheat facial skin. Please call our office if you experience excessive redness, burning, or itching.

Is it covered by insurance?

No, chemical peels are considered elective and are not covered by insurance.

Is it safe if I have a medical condition such as acne?

Yes, they are great for acne prone skin, with/without acne present. Chemical peels have been shown to be very beneficial for clearing acne and smoothing the appearance of pores. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, chemical peels should not be used.

Are there any side affects?

The treatment process is completely non-invasive. Most patients experience side effects such as a mild, temporary irritation and pinkness to the skin. It is possible for one to be allergic to ingredients in the chemical peel. If you are allergic or sensitive to glycolic or alpha hydroxy acid, please share this with your esthetician prior to treatment.

Can I do the procedure multiple times? And how soon after my last treatment can I do a second treatment?

Yes, with additional treatments you can expect to see improved results. It is recommended that a series of 3-6 chemical peels be done, approximately four weeks apart.
